There's such depth to these characters and it's clear that they're all badly hurting, as there's a lot of pain, anger and resentment in their histories that they've kept with them until now. While most of the book is seen through Tiernan's POV, we do get chapters from the three guys and I thought it was clever how PD changed those as the story went on. The first half of the book is a bit of a slow burn as we're introduced to the main characters: Tiernan, Jake, Noah and Kaleb. It's definitely not gonna be a book for everyone! That said, PD really did something with these characters that got me so invested in their story that I literally stayed up all night to finish this almost 500-page book, and I'm writing this review on 2 hours of sleep (so excuse the mess lol). It's taboo af and there's a lot of outrageous stuff that happens that won't sit well with many readers (dub con, bullying, violence, etc.), so I would highly recommend you check content and trigger warnings before picking it up. But seeing as people keep going on about PD's books I wanted to give her another try, and I'm glad I did with this one! That said, would I recommend this to readers? I mean.

Wowow, I didn't think that I would enjoy this read so much but here we are? This is only my second book by Penelope Douglas and to be honest, I wasn't sure that she was an author for me because I wasn't a big fan of the first book of hers that I read.
